In light of the recent COVID-19 developments, and specifically, extended stay-at-home orders and restrictions on mass gatherings in Massachusetts, NPACE has made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel the NPACE Primary Care and Pharmacology Update Conferences on Cape Cod, Massachusetts (June 8-12). Those registered for the conference were notified by email on May 5th and provided with details on registration refunds and guidance on canceling hotel and travel arrangements. Please continue to monitor your email, the NPACE web site, and our social media channels for the latest details. Any questions please email us at npace@npace.org

Keynote Speaker: Mimi Secor, DNP, FNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN
Dr. Mimi Secor, Nurse Practitioner- is a National Speaker/ Educator, #1 International Best-Selling Author, and a Fitness and Health Advocate.

Her current passion is helping NPs and busy, stressed out professionals change their lives so they can become healthier, more confidence and more successful.

She has worked for 41 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Women's Health. In 2015, at the age of 61, Dr. Secor earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, Utah.

The following year, in 2016, she was in her 1st body building competition, making her “Debut at 62”, placing 5th in the Figure over 40 category.

Nov 4th, 2017 she placed 2nd in the over 50 category in her second competition at the New England NPC Championship Bodybuilding Show in Boston, MA.

She has rec’d several awards and has also published extensively, including her NEW #1 International Best-Selling book, “Debut a New You: Transforming Your Life at Any Age”. 2014 co-authored textbook, Advanced Health Assessment of Women; Skills and Procedures, that was selected as 2016 “AJN Book of the Year-honorable mention” and her Updated (2nd edition) 2018 co-authored textbook, Fast Facts About the Gynecologic Exam for Nurse Practitioners, PAs and Midwives.

Dr. Mimi Secor is in business with her daughter (a Pro Body Builder, Trainer and Health Coach), as “Coach Kat and Dr Mimi” and their passion is helping stressed out- NPs and Busy Professionals become healthier, more confidence and successful. They offer a variety of programs/services including online courses and programs.
Nancy Dirubbo, DNP, FNP, FAANP, CTH
Dr. Nancy E. Dirubbo is an FNP who graduated from Northeastern University’s Nurse Practitioner Program in 1978 and the DNP program in 2015. She earned her Certificate in Travel Health from the International Society of Travel Medicine. From 1985 to 2015 she had her own primary care practice, Laconia Women’s Health Center, which was one the first NP owned primary care practices in the US. She owns two other businesses now - Travel Health of New Hampshire which she started in 2008 and Beacon Continuing Education that she formed in 2015 providing continuing education live, online and takes NPs on CE trips abroad. She is an avid traveler and has led groups to Lithuania, Russia, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Cuba. Her next CE lead trip will be to Amsterdam. She is a Fellow of the AANP and the American Travel Health Nurses Assoc. She has been published and lectures nationally and internationally.
Marion Growney, MSN, ACNP
Marion L. Growney, MSN, ACNP is a nationally certified Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Marion works as a nurse practitioner in Interventional Neuroradiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston MA. Marion received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston College in 1993 and her Master of Science in Nursing Degree from Northeastern University in 2002.

As a Radiology Nurse Practitioner, Marion was responsible for the development and establishment of a clinically based nurse practitioner within the Department of Radiology.
Victoria Lazareth, MA, MSN, NP-C, DCNP
Victoria Lazareth MA, MSN, NP-C, DCNP is a Board Certified Dermatology Nurse Practitioner. She received her undergraduate degree from Wagner College, N.Y., post-graduate degrees from Webster University in Geneva, Switzerland and Simmons College in Boston and attained national Nurse Practitioner certification in 1997. Having received her dermatology training directly from the Faculty of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Ms. Lazareth continues to serve as Affiliate professor at both the UMass and Simmons College Graduate Schools of Nursing. She is a contributing author to the text Dermatology for Advanced Practice Clinicians: Essential Knowledge and Skills, the published author of several Dermatology articles, a content editor for the Journal of the Dermatology Nurses’ Association and lecturer for several professional societies. She provides General Dermatology care and sub-specializes in Cutaneous Oncology, Transplant Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.
Karen M. Myrick, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, ANP-C
Dr. Karen M. Myrick is Associate Professor of Nursing, with a Joint Appointment in the School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, and Nurse Practitioner at Orthopedic Associates.

Dr. Myrick has 30 years of nursing experience, nurse practitioner for 19, and professor for 7. She continues to maintain a clinical practice in orthopedics and sports medicine in the orthopedic urgent care, and is an avid half marathoner, triathlete and martial artist. The recipient of multiple research grants, she publishes regularly in peer-reviewed journals, and actively reviews for several. Her research focus is sports medicine, and she has contributed to multiple published books, and is the primary author and editor of a book for Springer Publishing released in September 2016. Dr. Myrick received the 2016 National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) “Outstanding Researcher Award” and multiple “Outstanding Poster Awards”.

Committee work includes Membership for the Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science (CANS), Education and Resources for the (National organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty) NONPF, Government Relations for CTAPRNs. Board work includes Strategic Advisory for the global, interprofessional Clinical Case Reports Journal, and the Center for Responsibility, Education and Action, and the New England Shoulder and Elbow Society. Dr. Myrick has worked with a national workgroup to draft the guidelines for appropriate use of injections in osteoarthritic knees. Proudly, Dr. Myrick is also the room parent for her daughter’s fourth grade.
Lynn Rapsilber, DNP, APRN, ANP-BC, FAANP
Dr. Lynn Rapsilber has been a GI NP for over 13 years. She manages patients with all types of GI conditions especially IBS and fatty liver. She runs the Hepatitis C clinic for her practice and is considered and expert and resource for her community. Recently she started NP Wellness Care providing Hepatitis C education and treatment on site at addiction and rehabilitation centers. She is a sought-after speaker whose shares her expertise to promote knowledge of GI issues for the primary care provider. Dr. Rapsilber has presented on GI topics at local state and national platforms. She has authored articles on Hepatitis C and mentors new treaters. She lectures at colleges on GI topics.
Sohera N. Syeda, MD
Dr. Syeda is an Assistant Professor at Boston University School of Medicine’s Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep and Allergy Medicine and holds a Lecturer of Medicine appointment at the Harvard Medical School. She is a full-time VA faculty member and practicing physician at the VA Boston Healthcare System in West Roxbury, MA and Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial VA Hospital in Bedford, MA. She is also a medical staff at Steward Norwood Hospital’s intensive care unit in Norwood, MA.

She serves as a consultant to the Boston University School of Medicine, Barry M. Manuel Office of Continuing Medical Education and COPD Quality Improvement Consortium and has engaged in several collaborative COPD QI projects.

Dr. Syeda received her medical degree in 2005 in Chicago’s west loop at Rush University Medical Center and then moved east to complete residency and Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. She completed a Pulmonary & Critical Care Fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine and conducted health services research focusing on the impact of prolonged mechanical ventilation and use of tracheostomy on chronic critical illness. She is ABIM board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.

At the Boston VA, Dr. Syeda is engaged in various clinical, educational and administrative initiatives. She is responsible for, and is strangely enthusiastic about, the interpretation of all the hospital’s pulmonary function tests, an estimated 3,300 per year! She regularly teaches medical students, residents and fellows at Boston VA and is actively engaged in various hospital initiatives to improve transitional care and reduce admissions and readmission's for patients with COPD and Heart Failure. To this end, she developed and served as a medical director of a successful intensive care and case management program for veterans with advanced heart failure and COPD.
Wendy L. Wright, DNP, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN, FNAP
Wendy received her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2019 from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. She is a 1992 graduate of the Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program at Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts and completed a family nurse practitioner post-master’s program in 1995. She is an adult and family nurse practitioner and the owner of two, nurse practitioner owned and operated clinics within New Hampshire named: Wright & Associates Family Healthcare. Her family practices have won numerous awards, including Top Providers in New Hampshire 2018, Top 20 Fastest Growing Family Business, and Top 20 Women-Owned Business in New Hampshire. In addition, she is the Owner of Partners in Healthcare Education, a medical education company. She is the Past President of NPACE and the Senior lecturer for Fitzgerald Health Education Associates.

She is the recipient of numerous awards and was chosen by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as the 1999 recipient of the New Hampshire State Excellence Award. In addition, she received the 2009 NH Nurse Practitioner of the Year and the 2014 Top 5 Women in New Hampshire Business Award. In 2005, she was inducted as a Fellow into the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; in October 2014, a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, and in March 2017, a Fellow into the National Academies of Practice.

She is the founder of the NH Chamber of Entrepreneurial Nurse Practitioners, an organization designed to assist nurse practitioners with independent practice issues. In addition to full-time clinical practice, she presents nationally to different audiences and has been a speaker at over 1000 conferences in 47 states. She is the nurse practitioner representative to the State of NH Immunization Advisory Board. She has been a medical media spokesperson for numerous companies and has appeared on radio, television, and in print magazines. Wendy is frequently consulted by malpractice attorneys around the area of clinical practice and has worked on more than 100 malpractice cases involving nurses and nurse practitioners.
Kim Zuber, PA-C
Kim Zuber, PA-C tried to retire after 35 years of PA practice but instead spends her time traveling and teaching 'all things kidney' with over 130 oral presentations, 48 peer-reviewed articles and 5 guest editorships. She graduated from UCSD with a bachelor’s in molecular biology and chemistry, picked up a teaching credential at San Diego State University and taught high school for many years. Deciding that medicine had to be easier than teaching teenagers, Kim attended the St. Louis University PA program.

She has been involved in the kidney community for the last 25 years picking up Renal Professional of the Year 2014 for her work. She is an AAPA Distinguished Fellow and was selected as Outstanding PA of the Year in 2014.

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

FEES:

All registrations must be paid in full by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover) at the time of registration. NPACE no longer accepts payment by check. 4th for Free, Letter of Credit and complimentary registrations all require a $50 non-refundable administration fee upon registration.

CANCELLATION BY REGISTRANT:

Written notice of cancellation must be received by email or letter. A refund, excluding the $50 non-refundable administrative fee, will be issued when cancellation is received no later than one month prior to the conference start date. Refunds are processed based on the original form of payment.

A letter of credit, excluding the $50 non-refundable administrative fee, will be issued when cancellation is received between 30 and 8 days of the conference start date. This is valid for 12 months from issuance and may be used for towards any NPACE conference.

No refunds will be issued for cancellations received within 7 days of the conference start date.

CANCELLATION OF EVENT:

In the very unlikely event that NPACE cancels or postpones a conference due to circumstances beyond its control, NPACE’s liability shall be limited to refund of paid registration fees.
